APPLETON – A weight limit on Appleton’s Meade St. bridge has been canceled.

The state Department of Transportation announced a 15-ton limit on the bridge Wednesday, after some settling was discovered in a sidewalk in the area. That weight limit was lifted on Thursday, and the DOT says trucks of legal carrying weight are allowed on the bridge.

Drivers can expect lane closures on the bridge next week, the DOT says, as crews work on the bridge approach. The bridge itself will not need any maintenance or lane closures.
