St. Norbert baseball wins to keep regional hopes alive

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The St. Norbert baseball team took a 9-5 victory over Heidelberg on Thursday to remain alive in the NCAA regional tournament hosted by UW-Whitewater.

For the second day in a row Travis Mason hit a two run homerun for St. Norbert. Thursday’s homerun came in the first inning. Heidelberg answered with four runs in the top of the second. The Green Knights has another rally in them though. They put up four runs in the home half of the second inning and led the rest of the way.

Jake McMahon got the win for St. Norbert after allowing 1 run over 6 2/3 innings of relief. The Green Knights return to action Friday in the double elimination tournament. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
