OSHKOSH – A heroin task force is moving forward with plans to try to get the illegal drug out of Winnebago County.
Community members, law enforcement and treatment experts met again Wednesday morning in Oshkosh. It was the third time since the group formed last year.
The group is still trying to decide how to approach reducing the use and abuse.
So far they say they are pleased with the organizational progress.
“The immediate goal is to save lives and to help people with the addiction problem to make sure they get appropriate treatment,” said Joe Yana, re:TH!NK Winnebago County.
The group will meet again in October to continue implementation of their plans.
