Art project honors teacher Amanda Sutrick

Bay Port High School students in Todd Richardson’s art class have been creating a unique art piece that honors teacher Amanda Sutrick, who died unexpectedly in December. She had given birth to a baby boy just days before her death.

The tribute artwork is a large bird made from donated wood.  Students have been creating hundreds of one of a kind “feathers.” The piece will hang in a stairwell near Sutrick’s classroom.

Richardson and some of his students joined Good Day Wisconsin Tuesday to talk about the project, its meaning and to show some of the work.
