MARINETTE – Sheriff’s officials have identified the pilot injured when a small plane crashed Tuesday.

Daniel J. McGraw, 66, of Lena, was the only person aboard the plane, investigators say. McGraw left the Oconto airport around 11 a.m. He was headed toward Iron Mountain, Mich., when he made an emergency landing in a farm field in the town of Stephenson.

Emergency responders say the man felt some back pain, but was otherwise conscious and alert. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
