SEYMOUR — An offensive lineman from Northeast Wisconsin is making an early pledge to play for the Badgers. Seymour High School junior Jon Dietzen wrote on his Twitter account Sunday afternoon that he committed to play for the University of Wisconsin.
Rated a 3-star offensive lineman by Rivals.com and the top junior recruit in the state of Wisconsin, Dietzen also had scholarship offers from Michigan State, Nebraska and Miami among others, according to the site. Rivals lists Dietzen as 6’5, 305 pounds. Seymour football finished third in the Bay Conference last season, losing to Xavier in Level Three of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs. Verbal commitments are non-binding until high school athletes sign a National Letter of Intent their senior year.
