Neenah junior Matt Heldt helped lead Neenah to the Division 1 boys state basketball championship game this past season and Tuesday he received an offer from Marquette, Neenah coach Scott Bork confirmed.

The 6 foot 10 center combined for 38 points and 18 rebounds in two state tournament games, including a 27-point output against Mukwonago in a state semifinal.

Heldt, who attended Appleton West his freshman season before transferring to Neenah, has also drawn interest from Wisconsin, which had team personnel at games this past season. If Heldt accepts Marquette’s offer he’d be the second player from Northeast Wisconsin to play for the Golden Eagles and new coach Steve Wojociechowski as Seymour’s Sandy Cohen will be a freshman next season.
