Green Bay – Earth Day was earlier this week but the celebration continued at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary during the day Sunday.
There were several different events taking place with all sorts of animals.
Kids were able to get up close with some otters, at the Otter Odyssey.
Those involved with the celebrations believe giving people a behind-the-scenes look at the animals will help the environment.
“Wildlife and the environment go hand in hand so we want to highlight some of the animals that are here and give people a bit more of a behind the
scenes, special encounter with them. People can come out and celebrate with us and be outside and be apart of nature,” says the Wildlife Sanctuary
curator, Lori Bankson.
An exciting end to the day was when a red tailed hawk was released back into the wild.
