CECIL – Shawano County Sheriff’s Department investigators are asking for the public’s help in figuring out what led up to a weekend attack that left a man seriously injured.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday to Warrington Ave. in the Village of Cecil for an assault.
The victim, 27-year-old Kyle Patzer, is being treated at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Patzer’s family says he has two skull fractures, a blood clot and bleeding in his brain. His family says he is now in stable condition and out of the intensive care unit, but under close observation.
Patzer’s uncle says his nephew was out with some friends at the bar Castaways, when he went outside to have a cigarette.
“And then a guy came up from behind him, grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and his belt loops, picked him upside down and just slammed his head down into the ground,” Robin Reed told FOX 11.
Reed says doctors expect Patzer to make a full recovery.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Tom Tuma says investigators are looking for people who were at the bar or in the area, to come forward with information about the assault, as investigators are having a difficult time getting information about what led up to the incident.
“Everything seems very ambiguous,” said Tuma to FOX 11.
So far, there have been no arrests.
