Green Bay bridges closing for cleaning

GREEN BAY – Two bridges in Green Bay will be temporarily closed next week for cleaning.

The Donald Tilleman Bridge (Mason St.) will be shut down on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bridge will be closed west of the Fox River on W. Walnut St. at Broadway. It will be closed east of the Fox River on E. Walnut St. at Washington St. Mason St. traffic will be detoured across the Fox River over the Walnut St. Bridge by way of Ashland Ave., Walnut St., and Monroe Ave.

On Wednesday, the Walnut St. Bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bridge will be closed west of the Fox River on W. Walnut St. at Broadway. It will be closed east of the Fox River on E. Walnut St. at Washington St. Walnut St. traffic will be detoured across the Fox River over the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge by way of Broadway, Dousman St., Main St., and Monroe Ave.

City officials say drivers should anticipate backups and may want to use alternate routes.
