CRANDON – Four people who allegedly beat up a man and left him for dead in the woods will stand trial, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Raymond Jones, April Jones, Samantha McClellan and Justin Bey were bound over for trial after a preliminary hearing in Forest County court, according to online court records. All four requested a substitution of the judge, so no arraignment dates were set.
There was testimony Wednesday from a doctor and police officers, records indicate.
The victim met one of the suspects online and traveled to Forest County. After the suspects claim the man inappropriately touched a child, they allegedly beat the man for several days and left him for dead in the woods for wolves to eat. He was later found by ATV riders.
All four face multiple charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated battery, false imprisonment and kidnapping.
No charges are planned against the victim for the alleged touching incident, the district attorney has said.
Two juveniles are also charged in the case.
