Seymour star guard Sandy Cohen tweeted Monday he has recommitted to Marquette after exploring his options after Buzz Williams left the Golden Eagles for Virginia Tech last month.

Tweeted Cohen: “couldn’t be happier to spend the next four years of my life in the city of Milwaukee #MarquetteBound

Cohen visited with new coach Steve Wojociechowski last week and tweeted, “The visit with Coach Wojo was amazing. Can’t wait to build a better relationship with him.”

The 6-5 all-state player is Wojociechowski’s first commit. Cohen signed with Marquette last fall, but had other offers from Auburn, Creighton, Iowa, Memphis, Minnesota, Providence, Purdue and Virginia, amongst others.

Seymour coach Jon Murphy said Cohen received interest in the past two weeks but Wojociechowski was the right coach to pl

“There were a lot of options,” Murphy said. “In the end, we really liked ‘Wojo’ and are very comfortable with Marquette.”

This past season, Cohen averaged 21.2 points per game to lead the Bay Conference and for his career he scored 1,289 points.
