What to expect tonight and tomorrow

A major storm system moving into the area will bring a wintry mix of precipitation.

Be careful on the roads tonight and tomorrow as a wintry mix of sleet, snow, and freezing rain is likely.

A Winter Storm Warning in effect from tonight and tomorrow north and west of Green Bay and through the U.P. Expect scattered snow, sleet, and rain showers today. Freezing rain and sleet is likely tonight with roads becoming ice covered and dangerous. Freezing rain will change to snow Friday with 2″-8″ possible, the heavier amounts toward the northwest.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Brown, Outagamie, Winnnebago, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Waushara counties tonight and Friday morning. Widespread rain, freezing rain, and sleet moves in tonight with this storm. Ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch are possible overnight which would make roads ice-covered and dangerous. Light snow is possible on Friday afternoon. Accumulations only around 1 inch.

Once the big storm passes our weather begins to improve dramatically. Sunshine and 42 degrees on Saturday, partly cloudy and up to 54 on Sunday.

By the end of next week temperatures could approach the low 60s for portions of our area.
