GRAND CHUTE – Wisconsin Badgers Final Four merchandise is slowly popping up on store shelves in Northeast Wisconsin.
On Tuesday, Scheels in Grand Chute hopes to have the ‘Net Worthy’ shirts players wore after the game.
“Also the hat, which we should have here by Tuesday or Wednesday,” said Steve Fredrick of Scheels.
Fredrick expects demand for apparel to be extra high this week because it’s the Badgers’ first trip to the Final Four in 14 years.
“People have been asking, where’s the Final Four stuff, where’s this, where’s that?” (1:13)
The Jersey Store in Ashwaubenon is waiting for its first shipment of Final Four merchandise.
“It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t get them with the time lag with the shipping and everything, but we’ve had a huge increase in demand,” said Mike Walters of The Jersey Store.
Walters says the rush for Badgers apparel doesn’t compare to people looking for green and gold.
“Well, the Packers gear is in a world of its own up here. You can’t believe how many people come in, but the response for Badgers stuff has been very strong this year so far,” he said.
FOX 11 also checked with Shopko and Kohl’s about Final Four apparel. Both stores expect to have it available Tuesday or Wednesday.
Where can you show off your new red and white?
“We’re staffing up a little bit,” said Mike McNerney of the Green Bay Distillery.
The restaurant in Ashwaubenon is the home of a Wisconsin Alumni Association chapter. McNerney says crowds have been big through the tournament.
“We have a Badger Punch drink. Pizzas, burgers and wings are always popular for sporting events so we’re keeping those on our menu,” he said.
McNerney expects every seat will be full hours before the game.
