CINCINNATI (AP) – Wisconsin reached the NCAA Frozen Four title game in 2010 and lost to Boston College. Ferris State got there in 2012 … and lost to Boston College.

The Badgers and the Bulldogs are back in the tournament as the top two seeds in the Midwest Regional, looking to get in position for a title.

Wisconsin (24-10-2) plays North Dakota (23-13-3) in the semifinals on Friday night. Ferris State (28-10-3) plays Colgate (20-13-5) in the other semifinal.

Wisconsin and North Dakota State haven’t played this season. Ferris State and Colgate have played three times – unusual for nonconference teams – with Colgate winning twice. The Raiders’ 3-0 win on Jan. 4 became a turning point for both teams.
