TOWN OF RANTOUL – One person was killed and two badly hurt in a Friday morning crash in Calumet County.
Sheriff’s officials say the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Hwy. PP west of Hilbert Rd. A car headed east, driven by a 30-year-old woman, crossed the center line, investigators say. The car hit a westbound Jeep driven by a 16-year-old girl from Potter.
The 16-year-old girl and her 15-year-old passenger had to be cut out of the Jeep with the Jaws of Life. They were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The 30-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
No names have been released.
