GREEN BAY – James Starks will return to the Green Bay Packers backfield in 2014.

The team announced Wednesday afternoon that Starks had officially re-signed with the team. The fifth-year player became a free agent earlier in the month.

Green Bay drafted Starks in the sixth round in 2010. He played in 13 games in 2013 and started one due to an Eddie Lacy injury. Starks’ 5.54 yards-per-carry average in 2013 ranked No. 1 among running backs with 80 or more carries.
