KIMBERLY – It was a race to the finish line in Kimberly.
Runners were decked out in signature St. Patrick’s Day green.
They had the option of running or walking a 10 or three mile course.
And with the marathon season just around the corner, volunteers say now was the perfect time to lace up those running shoes.
While there wasn’t a pot of gold at the end, there was a costume contest.
“People always like to do things around the festivals or festivities, so there was kind of a lacking in St. Patrick’s Day runs in the area. So that’s why we started,” said volunteer Heidi Frederickson.
There were multiple winners at the event, and not just runners.
Prizes were handed out to the top three best costumes.
Also, all proceeds from the event will be given to the Community Benefit Tree.
The organization helps families struggling with a medical crisis.
