OSHKOSH – A woman who smuggled prescription drugs into the Winnebago County jail was sentenced Thursday to 18 months in prison.

Nicole Garland was also placed on extended supervision for two years.

Garland was in jail on a retail theft charge when staff found she had painkillers.

Garland’s brother, Christopher Andreas, was committed to a state mental health facility after shooting Garland’s husband on Christmas Eve, 2011.
