MARINETTE COUNTY – The water level on the Caldron Falls Reservoir will be dropping to make room for the spring melt.

Wisconsin Public Service, which operates hydroelectric facilities along the Peshtigo River, plans to draw down the reservoir beginning March 21. Water will be drawn down at no more than half an inch per hour, and will result in then water level being as much as six feet below normal. Water from melting snow should replenish the reservoir, WPS says.
