Phoenix down Valparaiso, on to semifinals

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Megan Lukan filled up the box score and led the Green Bay Phoenix to a 72-55 win over Valparaiso in the women’s Horizon League tournament Wednesday night.

Lukan scored 12 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and recorded 3 steals in the win.

Freshman Mehryn Kraker put up 11 points for the Phoenix, while redshirt freshman Mariah Monke scored 10 points off the bench.

The Crusaders were led in scoring by Jessica Carr, who scored all 18 of her points on six made three-point attempts.

Green Bay moves on to the Horizon League tournament semifinals to take the University of Illinois-Chicago.  The Flames topped Cleveland State 77-72 to move on.  The Phoenix host UIC at 7 p.m. at the Kress Events Center Friday night.
