A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter that made an emergency landing in Door County is on its way back to Michigan.

A six-member recovery team loaded the chopper onto a trailer Monday.

It’s now being driven back to Traverse City, Michigan. That’s where the helicopter took off from over the weekend for a trip to Iron Mountain.

But the crew had to land on a Washington Island beach when controls started malfunctioning.

No one was hurt.
