U.S. Coast Guard moving helicopter that made emergency landing

WASHINGTON ISLAND – The U.S. Coast Guard is moving a helicopter that had to make an emergency landing in Door County.

The helicopter left Traverse City, Michigan for Iron Mountain Sunday. It needed to land on a Washington Island beach because flight controls started malfunctioning.

No one was hurt.

Crews went out Monday to remove the chopper from the beach. It will stay on a truck overnight and be driven back to Traverse City Tuesday.
