GREEN BAY – Republican Governor Scott Walker was in the area Monday to learn about a new manufacturing lab being developed at Green Bay West High School.
The project is called Bay Link Manufacturing. It involves the Green Bay school district and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
Starting next fall, students can receive college credit.
Teachers say they’re working to create real-life experiences.
“We’re going to be teaching them soft skills. Communicating with each other, collaboration. Just working together,” said Andy Belongia, Bay Link Manufacturing teacher.
Students will complete projects for local companies.
Profits from the program will pay for new equipment and scholarships.
