There is a Wind Chill Advisory in effect for our area through noon today. Strong NW wind will bring “feels like” temperatures down to as cold as -35. Wind chills this low can cause frostbite on exposed skin in less than 20 minutes.
It will be very windy this morning with northwest winds 15 to 25 mph and gusts to 35 mph. Expect high temperatures only reaching the low single digits.
The winds die down and temperatures plummet tonight. With light winds and arctic air, the overnight low will fall into the negative teens. The current record low for Friday morning is -17 from 1962 and that record is in jeopardy.
Temperatures come back to the low teens on Friday with some light snow coming in during the afternoon and early Friday night. We could pick up 1-3 inches during that time and it may impact your afternoon commute.
