NEENAH – The search for an alleged robber in Neenah took an unexpected turn when police found a meth lab. And now, a man is in custody.

Police say the lab was found in the suspect’s garage on Winneconne Avenue. It was just two blocks away from where an Express Convenience Center was robbed around 7 a.m. Friday.

Neenah police say the man who allegedly robbed the gas station ran from the scene.

As part of the search, police went to the suspect’s home.

While they were there, they found what they called a “one pot” meth lab, which they say is a small operation.

The man was nowhere to be found, but that did not last long.

Police were called to the Appleton Public Library for a theft complaint. That’s where the man was taken into custody.
