GREEN BAY – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is becoming more veteran friendly.
A new student lounge in Cofrin Hall was made for student veterans and current service members for socializing and studying.
The school created the center in response to student veterans who said it is important for them to have their own space on campus.
“I haven’t really found a place where I could call home. To have a place, to have a Veterans Resource Center, to have a place where vets can hang out,” said Ken Corry, Vets 4 Vets club president, “that’s what this place is like.”
The school has more than 400 individuals receiving veteran benefits among its 6,000 students.
In 2013, UWGB was named a military friendly school for the fifth year in a row.
