APPLETON – The U.S. Dept. of Education has awarded more than $2 million to Lawrence University.
The five-year grant will support a new initiative to increase retention and graduation rates at the school, especially among at-risk students. To do that, it will be used to increase staffing for more one-on-one development for students.
New software, programs and training will also be added.
Music professor Steven Jordheim has been named the director of Lawrence’s initiative.
