APPLETON – Fox Valley children and their families learned the importance of good oral health
The “Miles of Smiles” day took place at the Building for Kids Children’s Museum Sunday.
Members of the dental community hosted hands-on demonstrations and activities for the children.
People learned about the effects of sugar, how a healthy mouth is part of a healthy body, and how to properly brush your teeth.
Organizers say that this annual and free event is a great way to showcase the importance of proper oral health.’
“It’s very important for parents and children to learn early on how important it is to start brushing and flossing at an early age, because dental health is important for total health, and we really want to emphasize this is the day to celebrate dental health,” said Bobbie Schmidt.
The event is in celebration of Children’s Dental Health month.
It’s put on by Delta Dental of Wisconsin.
