Baked Ziti


1 pound ground beef or bulk Italian sausage

1/2 cup finely diced onion

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce

1 cups water

1/4 cup white wine

1 box (16 ounces) ziti, cooked al dente

3 to 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook ground beef or sausage and onions in a skillet until crumbly and no longer pink. Drain any grease. Season with garlic salt. Add marinara sauce, water and wine. Simmer a few minutes. Toss sauce and pasta together. Spoon into a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish that’s been sprayed with cooking spray. Top with mozzarella, then Parmesan and croutons. Bake for 25 to 40 minutes or until bubbly.
