OAKFIELD – A Fond du Lac County community is recommending its residents run their faucets overnight to prevent frozen water pipes.

The Village of Oakfield says residents should run a small, pencil lead-sized stream of water from one faucet during times when water is not consistently being used.

The recommendation is due to the extreme cold temperatures and deep frost levels.

Village officials say utility bills will be adjusted so that there is no extra cost to residents.
