GREEN BAY – While in Green Bay Thursday, Governor Scott Walker said he’s having an independent, outside consultant look into the proposed casino near Kenosha.
The Menominee tribe wants to partner with Hard Rock International to build an $800 million casino.
But two other tribes oppose the plan, saying they would lose money if it’s built.
The casino has approval from the federal government, but Governor Walker also needs to sign off on it.
“To try and sort through the numbers that each of the competing sides are talking about to try and really get a handle on what are the most objective numbers and how can we negotiate some sort of an agreement,” said Walker.
Walker was expected to make a decision last year. Now that may not happen until the end of this year.
