GREEN BAY – It will cost you a little more to cheer on the Packers at Lambeau Field next season.
The team is raising ticket prices $3 on stadium bowl tickets.
With the increase, tickets will cost:
-End zone seats: $77
-South end zone, 700 Level: $85
-End zone to the 20-yard line: $88
-South end zone, 600 Level: $92
-Between the 20-yard lines: $100
Lambeau Field suite tickets will also increase $3 in 2014 to $100.
Team officials say invoices were sent to season-ticket holders this week. Payment is due in the Packers’ ticket office March 31.
With a consistent contender on the field, and an improving stadium, a $3 ticket increase isn’t unreasonable to some Packers fans.
“As long as we keep winning the division every year and possibly going to the Super Bowl, I don’t have a problem with that,” said Brad Petzke of Marquette, Michigan.
The Packers project the average ticket price will be 17th of the league’s 32 teams. That is about the same as last year.
“We feel that’s a great value for our fans given our top-rated game day environment,” said Aaron Popkey, a team spokesperson.
This is the fifth year in a row prices have gone up. The team says it is better than the alternative of taking a year off followed by a larger increase the next season.
“The facility is great, they’re expanding, they’re trying to be competitive with all the other stadiums,” said Lois Bressette of Clintonville. “$100 isn’t that bad for a ticket price.”
What about playoff tickets? Based off fan feedback, the Packers are also revamping its payment options. One option will be “pay as we play.” That means payment would not be applied until a playoff game became a certainty.
“There’s a lot of details to work on with regard to play as we play and the other options for playoff ticket invoicing and we’re going to continue to do that and communicate that when that’s all finalized,” said Popkey.
