Valparaiso, Ind- The UW-Green Bay Phoenix men’s team did something it hadn’t done in 116 games- play without Alec Brown in the middle. They certainly missed him, as Green Bay lost to Valparaiso 75-60.
The Crusaders shot 58.7% from the field, and were led by LaVonte Dority’s 26 points as the Phoenix lost their first game in conference play this season. The Phoenix were led by Keifer Sykes who scored 19, the only player in double figures, and dropped to 17-4, 7-1 in conference.
Brown has a left shoulder injury and was a game time decision for the Phoenix. They come home to the Resch Center to play Wright State on Saturday evening, and Brown could be back on the court by then.
