WEST BEND – Family and friends gathered Tuesday evening to lay to rest a man killed in a shooting at Purdue University.
Andrew Boldt, 21, was killed a week ago in a classroom.
A fellow student has been charged with Boldt’s murder.
People gathered Tuesday at Saint Frances Cabrini Church in West Bend. That includes students and faculty from Purdue who traveled the 250 miles on buses provided by the university.
The family’s priest says they’re appreciative of all the support.
“They’re doing okay. They’re very people of really deep faith and full of gratitude for everyone’s prayers and support. They’re doing the best they can under these circumstances,” said Rev. Nathan Reesman, St. Frances Cabrini Church.
A scholarship fund is being set up at the parish in Boldt’s memory.
