GREEN BAY – It’s six and counting for Green Bay’s Keifer Sykes.

The junior guard was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the sixth time in 2013-14 season.  It’s a new conference record for a single season.  Sykes is tied for the conference career record with 10 Player of the Week honors.

Green Bay (17-3, 7-0) has won 12 straight after topping conference foes Detroit, Oakland and Illinois-Chicago last week.

Sykes scored 22 points against Detroit, 27 against Oakland and 21 points against UIC.

This week the Phoenix go on the road at Valparaiso on Wednesday and then host Wright State at the Resch Center on Saturday night.

The Phoenix women’s team also brought home hardware.

Kaili Lukan brought home the women’s Horizon League Player of the Week award.  Lukan scored 23 points and shot 60 percent from the field in a win over Wright State on Saturday.

It was the first weekly honor this season for the Phoenix (10-7, 3-2).

Green Bay travels to Oakland on Thursday, then plays at Detroit on Saturday.
