GREEN BAY – Monday marks Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
But Saturday, a local college honored the civil rights leader’s memory a little early.
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College held its annual celebration honoring Dr. King on its Green Bay campus.
The event featured multicultural performances from different dance groups.
People also got to hear King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
Organizers say it is important to keep his message alive.
“What is his dream? His dream is that one day all children will be recognized not for the color of their skin, but for the content of their character and respected for it,” said organizer Alem Asres.
Good Day Wisconsin’s Emily Deem was the emcee for the event.
